There is something so incredibly special about photographing a family in the middle of a big life transition. Getting to document these chapters is exactly why I fell in love with family portrait photography.

Recently, I had the absolute joy of hanging out with the Seals family for a golden hour session at Panther Creek State Park. Nestled right in the rolling hills of East Tennessee, Panther Creek gave us the most gorgeous backdrop: warm light filtering through the trees, quiet lake views, and plenty of open space for little Lincoln’s giggles.

Can we talk about baby Lincoln for a second? He completely stole the show. From the very first click of my camera, he kept all of us laughing. Sessions with young families are always my favorite because they force you to slow down and embrace the chaos. The magic doesn't happen in the stiff, perfectly posed moments; it happens in the quiet spaces in between. It's the way a mom naturally comforts her baby, the proud look on a dad's face, and those playful interactions that show who a family truly is.

This session carried an extra layer of sweetness because the Seals family is actually returning to the Morristown, TN area. Caleb, Lincoln's dad, is originally from Morristown, but he and his awesome wife, Madison, have spent the last several years serving in ministry away from Tennessee. Caleb recently accepted a new position at Arrowhead Church, bringing them right back to his hometown. They are thrilled to be near family and familiar faces while continuing their ministry journey here in East Tennessee.

There is such a deep sense of gratitude that comes with moving back home, especially when you are starting a fresh season as young parents. You could feel that excitement radiating off of them the entire evening. The love they have for each other and for their sweet baby boy was so evident in every single frame.

If you are looking for the perfect spot for family photos in Morristown, Panther Creek State Park is always at the top of my list. Our little slice of Tennessee has a way of making every portrait feel timeless. It gives families room to just breathe, relax, and enjoy being together without feeling rushed.

To the Seals family: thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me to capture these memories for you during such a milestone season. Welcome home to Morristown!
